Fallout 4 Mod Space Increase

This game is too buggy as it is, adding more mod space just makes it worse (depending on what mods you use, obviously). Even before mods, this game would crash all the time. Skyrim SE is an xbox 360 game ported to xbox one with the intent to have it be modded, of course its going to perform well, hence the higher mod limit. 'Regarding the space for Mods, there is also no ideal way to update the Mod size limits for Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Replacing a partition has wide-ranging impact, and potentially jeopardize the saves you have that are currently dependent on Mods.' I've lost faith in it, finally just accepted deleting a bunch of mods not completely necessary. As title asks, i know i can clear items to clear up space but i'm trying to make a nice town and i need more space. Anyone know of a console command or method i can do to get more size (i don't mean expand my borders i mean increasing max size limit for placing # of objects) Thanks.

The most recent updates for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Fallout 4 and Skyrim: Special Edition have officially placed a max limit on the number of mods that players can run on their game. Xbox one users can now use up to 150 mods at a time; PS4 players get 100.

Prior to this update, players were limited only by the amount of data space the mods took up. For Skyrim: Special Edition, Xbox One players got 5GB of space, while PS4 players had 1GB. For Fallout 4, the discrepancy between consoles continued, with Xbox One having 2GB and PS4 players having only 900MB.

The new quantitative mod limit was not listed in the patch notes for either games’ most recent updates, which shipped earlier this week. Instead, the updates focused primarily on bug fixes and improved browsing through each games’ mod menus, leaving the reveal of the new mod number limit to be an unwelcome surprise for some gamers.

Developer Bethesda has posted an official response on their community forums, explaining that the limits have been put in place based on “internal testing to the stability of the game”. They clarify further that the limit does not affect the number of mods you can have in your library, only the number of mods currently active, meaning players can keep their same library so long as they go in and enable or disable individual mods as needed to stay under the limit.

The continued discrepancy in mod support for Xbox One and PS4 is not formally addressed in the post, although Bethesda has demonstrated frustration in the past with Sony’s behavior towards mod support.

Bethesda has clarified that this limit is a “starting point”, and that they may be adjusted again in future patches.

While venturing throughout the wasteland of Boston, you’ll notice there is a lot of stuff you can pick up, carry with you and use as crafting materials. Due to limited space in your inventory, deciding if you should collect every single item you find becomes a mini-game.This is why each item has its weight and you can carry up to your current maximum weight limit (which depends on many factors, like the number of strength points), without becoming overcumbed and lowering your movement speed a lot.
All items you can collect in the game are organized in seven (7) folders. Next to their unique markings, they all have value and weight.

How to increase your inventory

Fallout 4 Mod Sites

  • To increase your inventory, you’ll have to invest into Strenght; especially the rank 6 perk called Strong Back. This perk allows you to increase your inventory by 50 units and gives you the ability to fast travel while overencumbered.
  • Lone Wanderer, the Charisma level 3 perk, allows you to have up to +200 inventory space if you wander around without a companion.
  • Interact with your companion by clicking the action button while looking at them. Shortly after, you’ll be given the option to trade with them. This is an additional way of increasing your inventory.
  • Go to your workshop and use the transfer option. You’ll be able to select the option “Store all junk”. This one click option gives you the ability to put all junk from your inventory directly into the workshop, where it can be used for crafting.
  • Open your Pip Boy and head to inventory->junk->component view. This reveals the option to mark materials like: Adhesive, Aluminum, Ceramic, Glass and Steel. Once you mark one of them, the game will show a magnifying glass next to the names of items that contain this material in the world. This mark remains next to the name of any item that has this material no matter where you see them – in your inventory, in the wilderness, and you can collect only items that you really need at that moment.
  • Once you clear an area, head to one of your settlements and drop all necessary loot into the workshop and any other storages you’ve built.
